Des Dwyer is Parish Priest at Immaculate Conception Hawthorn.  Born in Warrnambool he was educated at Xavier College.  After leaving school he joined the Jesuits and was ordained in 1974.  He did post graduate studies in Spirituality at St Louis University USA (read more)

Lenten prayer group

The Lenten Prayer Group, facilitated by Donna Bosnjak, is being held on Mondays during Lent at 7.30pm-8.30pm in the Parish Centre. All are welcome.

Easter Cleaning Bee

We invite you to assist the Parish Altar group in preparing the church before Easter. Join us in the church on Saturday 21 March 9.30 am - 11.30am. Bring your favourite cleaning supplies otherwise they will be provided. Morning tea will be in the Parish Centre afterwards.

ICC Gardening

The monthly weed-and-tidy of the ICC gardens will take place on Saturday 21 March, between 9.30am and 11am. Volunteers most welcome.

Palms for Palm Sunday

There will be a working bee on Thursday 26 March at 10am in the Parish Centre to clean and prepare the palm fronds.  If you have gardening gloves, aprons and secateurs, please bring them .

Parish Census

A parish census will be conducted following the Homily at all Masses over the next two weekends; 14/15 March & 21/22 March. This will enable us to update our parish records – adding new members of our community and noting changes with addresses, emails and phone numbers. Census Cards, Privacy Envelopes and pencils will be placed in the pews prior to each Mass, and you are requested to return your envelope in one of the collection baskets. Your assistance with this important process is very much appreciated.

Combined Parish Choir for The Easter Triduum Services 2026

If you would like to be part of the choir for some or all of the Easter Triduum Services, please contact Fiona Dyball at dyballfiona@gmail.com . The choir will be singing for Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Saturday Vigil. All music is provided, and all are very welcome. 

Catechist Sacraments for 2026

Enrolment/expression of interest is now open. Candidates need to be in Year 3 or above for First Reconciliation, Year 4 and above for First Eucharist and Year 6 and above for Confirmation.
