Dear Families,
To help your child prepare for this Sacrament we will be holding classes on the dates and times below. We invite you to join us at both the Family Preparation Night and the Presentation Mass so you can be part of the preparation for this special experience in your child’s faith development.

Class Dates & Times
There will be 5 classes and a rehearsal for the children. Classes will be held on the following Mondays 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th February, & 6th March from 4pm- 5.15pm. Classes will be in the Parish Centre, 345 Burwood Road (off Lynch St, next to Billy Lids). Children will need to bring their pencil cases. Rehearsal for the Sacrament will be on Monday, 20th March at 4pm – 5.15pm in the church.

Children will bring home ‘reconciliation worksheets’. These will be used to complete homework activities that support the sacramental classes. There will also be opportunities for them to share a short prayer and/or reflection with their families over the course of the preparation. This could be done together before a meal or at bedtime. We see this sharing as an important part of their faith development. We would appreciate your support and encouragement of your child by being involved at home with this aspect of the program.

Parish Presentation Mass
All children preparing for the Sacrament are asked to attend Mass with their families on Sunday, 26th February, at 9.30am at Immaculate Conception Church, where we will present the children to the Parish and ask the parishioners to remember them in their prayers. Attendance at this Mass is an important part of the Sacramental Program.

Family Preparation Night
At Immaculate Conception Church, 345 Burwood Rd, Hawthorn on Wednesday, 8th March, 7.00 pm sharp – 8.15 pm, for parents & sacramental child (please, no siblings).

Cost
To cover costs we ask that each family contribute $80.00 per child. This fee covers the cost of the classes & materials, certificates, etc.
This fee is payable via www.trybooking.com/CEOMZ

Baptismal Certificate
A copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate will need to be sighted by myself (and a copy taken) before classes commence. N.B. I won’t need a baptismal certificate if your child was baptised at the Hawthorn Parish but please indicate this when booking.
