Jesuit Mission Hawthorn Parish Appeal

Our parish will be holding the Annual Jesuit Mission Appeal on 1-2 August 2026, as Jesuit Mission celebrates 75 years of walking alongside communities in need. In remote parts of Hazaribag, India, many women face pregnancy and childbirth without access to medical support or basic health knowledge. Pratim has lived this firsthand. From a marginalised tribal community herself, she has been empowered through the Jesuit-run Swastheya project to become a health educator and community leader for change. Today, she travels across 32 villages, working alongside local nuns to support women in accessing maternal health information, nutrition guidance and hygiene practices. St Ignatius Feast Day

This weekend we will celebrate St Ignatius Feast Day the founder of the Jesuits. St Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit order more than 500 years ago, came from north eastern Spain, and after a serious war injury he changed from being a very worldly man to one committed to the spiritual life. He learnt the ways of God and wrote the Spiritual Exercises, a practical manual for spiritual growth, which has been used widely ever since. CatholicCare Victoria Food Donations

CatholicCare Victoria are now in need of further food staples to support asylum seeker families. Donations may be left at the Parish Office, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4pm. We will be arranging for CatholicCare to pick up donations after the first week of August.
